What we've achieved

November 2016 - Arrow Valley Country Park

A large team from Life Finance visited Arrow Valley Country Park in Redditch and created a fantastic hedge, made from cut down branches from the Millennium Wood onsite.

The reason for creating this natural hedgerow was to provide nesting facilities for the birdlife onsite, but also creating a habitat for insects, especially beetles.

The Group has worked with the park rangers at Arrow Valley on a number of occasions during the year.

November 2016 - Heart of England Forest

Seventeen members of staff from the Change team participated in tree planting at the Phoenix Way Wood.  Between them they planted 400 trees in a couple of hours, on a very cold November afternoon.

The Change team’s inspiration for signing up for this challenge was linked to the paper-reduction exercise they have embarked on as a team.  They have carefully been tracking their individual and team stats over the year, and wanted to re-plant trees as a way of giving back.

The Phoenix Way Wood was created in 2013 and now holds in excess of 4,000 oak saplings.
