Andy Curran

Experience:

Andy joined Phoenix in July 2020 as CEO to lead the UK and European Savings and Retirement business and Group Director Scotland.  Andy has over 30 years of life and pensions experience – most recently as MD Corporate, Aviva UK Insurance, accountable of Aviva’s UK Corporate businesses.  Andy has held senior positions at Prudential and was UK CEO for FriendsLife.  Andy is leading the Phoenix Group’s Open Business and BPA growth strategy, and will enhance Phoenix’s position as a leader in the workplace market, helping customers throughout their journey to and through retirement.  As well as the Open businesses in the UK, Andy is responsible for the Phoenix Groups’ European operations and Sun Life.

Role and responsibilities:

• leads the development and delivery of the Open business strategy;
• enables better outcomes for customers; and
• redeploys excess capital at attractive rates to generate future predictable cash flows and offset the Heritage business run-off.
