Life and pension firm Phoenix Group based in Wythall arranged a temporary onsite food collection in aid of Redditch Food Bank.
This initiative was set up by Phoenix staff attending its multi-faith group, who wanted to give back to the local community and collect non-perishable food items for those in need. Malcolm Shaw, commenting on behalf of the group “we all have so much to be thankful for. Being thankful is an important part of many faiths, and we wanted to express this through helping those in local need.”
Redditch Food Bank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in a crisis. Phoenix Group collected tinned produce and non-perishable items to support the food donations.
