How we help our corporate charity partners

Helping others

The Group continues to recognise the importance of corporate charity partnerships, and the ability to engage colleagues in a cause that will reap multiple benefits for all involved.

Giving back is part of Phoenix's culture and our corporate partnerships provide many opportunities for colleagues to support through fundraising, volunteering and knowledge sharing.

Our UK charity partner

Samaritans has been our UK corporate charity partner since 2021 and was extended to March 2024 as we continue to realise the benefits for our customers, colleagues, and wider communities.

Samaritans is a national charity with 201 local branches around the UK and ROI. Volunteers are available, day or night, 365 days a year, for anyone who's struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Every seven seconds, Samaritans respond to a call for help.

Samaritans offer support to prevent people reaching crisis point. Their tools, resources and services online and offline help people look after their own mental and emotional health and wellbeing, build resilience and support others.

Read more about the achievements from our six-year partnership with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and London’s Air Ambulance Charity, and our shorter partnerships with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, all of which concluded at the end of 2020. £1.4 million was donated to these charity partners from colleague fundraising, Company donations and supplier contributions.

We welcome approaches from local and national charities, and whilst we may not be able to support you financially, we would like to explore other opportunities.

Supporting charities in Europe

Ireland

In 2023 the Irish charity champions recognised some great opportunities in aligning with Phoenix’s charity partner, Samaritans. In Ireland the Samaritans do outstanding work in the community which supports our purpose to help people secure a life of possibilities. Samaritans Ireland has a shared vision to reduce death by suicide. It has 21 branches within Ireland, with 14 of these being in the Republic of Ireland, including a branch located near the Dublin office.

“We are delighted that Phoenix are partnering with Samaritans Ireland. These are difficult times for many people, and Samaritans volunteers are here for anyone struggling to cope. By partnering with Samaritans Ireland to raise awareness and funds, the Phoenix team will help us to be there to support people through the challenges they face. The Samaritans helpline is available day and night, 365 days a year thanks to our generous supporters; we’re grateful that we can include Phoenix as one, and we look forward to working with them as their employee charity partner.”
